Camille used Habyts Tasks sections to set her kids chores such as set the table, clear the table and put away the groceries. To do this, she went to the Tasks section, clicked Add a new Task and then followed the 3 steps to get the Task set up.
- Choose Task
- Set which day and time the Task should be completed
- Decide whether to block Play Time until Task is completed, set approval or reward points.
“It was very easy to set up Tasks. It encourages me to set more and in this simple way it makes it easy for my kids to understand.”
Why did you rate Tasks 5/5?
“It’s great to know that I can put certain things for my child to do and once it gets done she is rewarded… It gears them to continue and adapt to helping complete everyday tasks.
To encourage her kids to complete their tasks and homework, Camille set up Habyts Rewards. By going to the Rewards tab, she could simply type a reward in or choose from the existing list.
“Adding rewards was rather easy. I added do some baking together, read with me, have an ice cream, play my favorite board game…all valued at 5 points.”
When kids have earned enough points in their Habyts piggy bank, you can click “Give Reward.” The points are then deducted and your kids can get the treat they have worked for!
Why did you rate Rewards 5/5?
“It’s a great idea to get rewards. In reality, just to have additional time together and still accumulate points.”
Camille used the Schedule tab to decide when her child would have access to screen time. She set it to 2-3 hours per weekday after class (when her homework was done).
However, when her child needed her device for schoolwork, Camille used Study Time.
In the Schedule tab, you can now set a Study Time schedule. All you have to do is click the button, decide when to set school work and save! Habyts will take care of the rest.
In the Study Time section itself, you can set the Study Time rules, start urgent Study Time and decide which websites and apps are blocked during this time too.
“The Study Time page is excellent and great to know you can block sites and only use a specific time to study for your kids. Great program!”
Using the Reports feature, Camille was then able to tell how much Study Time was applied and how much Play Time with an overall total time on the PC.
“I love how the information is tabulated for knowing how long your child has been on the PC daily and for what purposes.”
