Play the guessing game and test concept skills. List five things and the kids have to guess what category they all fit into: i.e. say cow, pig, duck, sheep, horse and they would guess “farm animals.” You can reverse it by giving a category and asking your kids to name five things in that category. Also use a timer to see how many words they can come up with in a minute.
